Conlan was diagnosed with Autism in August 2010 just after he turned 3 years old. A few friends had already pointed out that he might be autistic, but sadly we didn't think it was. The autism from the movies was nothing like Conlan. We thought he just had a speech delay but in reality the loss of language was a symptom of autism. Grateful for the knowledge of his condition, we were ready to move on; knowledge is power!
Conlan is a boy full of love and courage. He takes pleasure in the simplest of things from playing with water to jumping up and down. His take on life is one we could all learn from.
